Fran Preisman has a Masters Degree in Art History from Case Western Reserve University. She worked in the Cleveland Museum of Art, the San Diego Museum of Art, and was Education Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego, prior to earning her designation of Certified Appraiser of Personal Property (CAPP), specializing in Fine Art, from the International Society of Appraisers (ISA).
Over the past 30 years Ms. Preisman has appraised 19th century through contemporary artworks specializing in museum donations, estates, and insurance reports. In addition, for the past 15 years she has privately sold and acquired artworks for estates, hospitals, and individual collectors.
Fran Preisman is a private fine art dealer and advisor of museum quality acquisitions. As an art historian she has been involved in the world of art-search and art evaluation for over two decades. Prior to authenticating and selling masterworks by Durer and Ryder as well as Modernists Leger, Picasso, Moore, Stella, and Johns, Ms. Preisman confers with museums, scholars, and conservators throughout Europe and the USA. Her assignments have required vigorous scrutiny of artworks.
As a former museum curator, Fran Preisman, works in a scholarly and confidential manner by providing expertise and guidance to collectors and organizations in both the acquisition and de-accession of artworks. Ms Preisman is often called upon to sell works for museum trustees, estate heirs, private collectors, non- profit organizations, hospitals and corporations.
In addition to providing art advisory services, Fran Preisman Fine Art performs confidential appraisals for estate, donation, and insurance purposes. Ms Preisman is a certified member of the International Society of Appraisers (ISA).
